6" Pineapple Plant

Exotic conversation starter - pineapple plants are a type of bromeliad native to South America.

CARE:

Light: bright light or full sun

Temperature: Pineapples love warm, sunny conditions. Keep it at warm room temperature, ideally between 22-28 °C. Keep the plant away from freezing temperatures. In the winter- Place it in a warm sunny nook (large south-facing window). You can put your plant outside in the summer, but you need to bring the plant inside before the first frost hits.

Water: only as needed, keeping the soil lightly moist and never allowing it to become waterlogged or bone dry. They are more likely to be badly affected by overwatering than underwatering.

Fertilizer: once a month with a balanced organic fertilizer

Growing season: most of the growth will occur in the warmer months. A mature potted plant can grow to be several feet wide and tall.

Fruit: How to tell if it is ripe and ready for eating…

    • Colour: the more yellow a pineapple’s exterior is, the riper the fruit will be.
    • Feel: a ripe pineapple will feel slightly soft when you squeeze it.
    • Smell: If the bottom of it smells ripe, fruity, sweet, and bright, that thing is probably good to go.

Please know that no two plants are alike and the one you receive may not look exactly as shown.
